News tidbits – Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year; and the first day of summer. It is also National Aboriginal Day.
Michipicoten First Nation is celebrating today with a Sunrise Ceremony at 8 a.m. The McGuffin’s are visiting with a water information booth. After a day of activity, a feast is scheduled, and an evening Voyageur Canoe Ride with drummers, and tobacco ties to be given in prayer for the water. This is part of a four-day celebration “Lake Superior Water Gathering”.
Tonight is the LDHC Annual General Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Boardroom. The public is invited to attend.
