Dec 31, 2021 at 09:40 At 8:25 the highway was reopened. Dec 31, 2021 at 08:30 Hwy 17 is closed from Wawa to White River due to weather conditions. The highway was closed at 1:56 a.m. At 8:15 the Winter Weather Travel Advisory ended (Wawa – Pukaskwa Park, White River – Dubreuilville), so the weather should let up soon.

Large Police Presence Yesterday in Wawa

SE OPP took to social media to warn of a notable police presence on Mackey Street yesterday afternoon. They explained that there was no cause for public concern. At one point yesterday evening there were 8 cruisers between First Avenue, Second Avenue and Ganley Street. Officers were seen entering a residence and an individual left with officers late yesterday evening.
