PAIM, Manuela ‘Mandy’

February 13, 1966 – October 30, 2026
(Maria Manuela De Rocha Paim)

On Friday, October 30, 2026, Mandy Paim passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after a long and difficult 10-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Mandy will be remembered for her incredible strength, determination, and the force of a personality she carried throughout her life. She was a woman who never gave up easily, and even through the hardest years of her illness, her strength and fighting spirit never went unnoticed. Her contagious energy and beautiful smile could light up any room, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel loved. Above all else, Mandy loved her children fiercely. They were her world, her greatest pride, and the most important part of her life. No matter what life brought her way, that love never changed. She will be remembered not only for the strength she showed, but for the enormous love she gave.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Cassidy Thibault, and son-in-law, Donald “Donny” Thibault; her lifelong friend, Stephen Woods; and her nephew, Christopher Paim.

She is now reunited with her beloved son, Jordan Paim, her mother, Luisa Paim her father, Manuel Paim, her sister, Maria Paim, and her niece, Helena Paim, who passed before her.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been there for Mom and helped along the way throughout the years. A very special thank you to the staff at the F.J. Davey Home who went above and beyond in caring for Mom. Your kindness, compassion, and dedication never went unnoticed.

To Donny, thank you for loving my mom as if she were your own and for standing beside me through every part of this journey. I could never put into words how much your love and support have meant to me.

To the friends who were there for Mom and me whenever we needed them, thank you. Your kindness and support meant more than you will ever know.

After 10 long years of fighting a battle no one should ever have to face, Mom is finally at peace. We wish life could have been kinder to her, but find comfort knowing she is no longer suffering.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Mandy’s memory may make a donation (by cheque or online) to the PSP Society of Canada. Donations help support families affected by PSP and contribute to research toward better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.

A burial service will be held in Wawa, Ontario at the Woodland Cemetery on Thursday, November 12, 2026 at 11:00 am.
