Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist, Head Office, Little Rapids (Thessalon)

The Algoma District Services Administration Board’s (ADSAB’s) mission is to provide effective and efficient Social and Paramedic Services that are responsive to diverse individual and community needs. Our vision is strengthening the social, health and economic wellbeing of the citizens we serve to promote sustainable, healthy communities in the District of Algoma. We service 20 organized municipalities and the unorganized townships within the geographic District of Algoma.

We are seeking a candidate for the following new position:

Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist, Head Office, Little Rapids (Thessalon)

The Information Technology Support Specialist requires strong customer service orientation and excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, for the day-to-day provision of high-quality, reliable computer and IT infrastructure across the organization. Key functions of this position include:

  • providing comprehensive computer/IT services and support to users and departments;
  • analyzing and testing computer and systems performance, and troubleshooting and resolving problems;
  • maintaining and supporting devices such as networks, computers, printer/fax machines, security and life/safety systems;
  • providing administrative support for the department, including note-taking, technical writing and record-keeping, and general administrative tasks;
  • participating in the IT department on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support;
  • promoting a working environment that fosters accountability for the care, security and responsible use of the organization’s computer and IT systems.

Ideally, the Information Technology Support Specialist will have demonstrated experience in providing user support in a government services environment, over multiple work sites, and will be familiar with MS Office 365.

The incumbent requires a post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant discipline (preferably information systems, networking, computer support technician), or demonstrated equivalent experience.

The salary range for this position is $88,365.72 to $102,504.24, and the starting rate will be commensurate with experience. The incumbent will be required to participate in rotating after-hours on-call duty to respond to emergencies.
