East Algoma OPP – Person arrested at Mischief Call

On March 25, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to mischief related occurrence at an apartment building on Dunn Road in Elliot Lake.

The complainant reported a known person proceeded smash windows in the building with a hammer. Prior to this call, police had attended and dealt with the same person in relation to a landlord/tenant matter. Police located the person a short time later who was arrested and charged.

Adam SMYTHE, 29 years-old, from Elliot Lake was charged with Mischief – Destroys or Damages Property, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 3, 2022.
