Marine – Strong wind warning in effect. Wind south 20 knots backing to southeast 20 near noon then veering to south 25 Sunday morning. Wind veering to southwest 20 Sunday afternoon. Waves one metre building to 2 this afternoon then subsiding to one and one half metres Sunday evening.

News Tidbits – Happy Back to the Future Day!

Today, Saturday, October 21st and Sunday, October 22nd, it’s time to try your hand at bowling. Roxy Bowling is donating $3 from every game of bowling to the Wawa Community Food Bank!

Goodbye potluck supper for Roberta & Ben Markowski will be held today at the Legion Club Room (downstairs) at 4:30 pm. ALL are welcome to bid farewell to a wonderful couple who have done so much for our community! A card will be available to sign and contributions towards a gift will be welcome.

If the skies are clear tonight you might want to have a look. The Orionid Meteor Shower is set to peak between tonight and Monday night, with a peak viewing time at 2 a.m. of 20 – 30 meteors per hour.  The Orionids are remants of Halley’s Comet hitting the Earth’s atmosphere creating a dazzling show of shooting stars, and the meteors can be seen coming from Orion’s belt.
