OPP use Unmanned Aerial System to investigate Fatal Collision near Mattawa

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are investigating a fatal collision with the aid of the OPP Unmanned Aerial System (UAS).

Mattawa OPP responded to a collision which occurred on Hwy 17 near Hwy 630 in Calvin Township late this morning. OPP state that, “Preliminary information is that an eastbound SUV collided with a westbound pickup truck. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the pickup truck sustained no injuries.”

The highway was opened at 18:20 p.m. after being closed for nearly 5 and a half hours.
