Smile Cookies Raise $2,084 for Alzheimer Society of Algoma – Wawa Branch

 

Last Thursday morning, Perry Kauk, Manager of Tim Hortons – Wawa and his staff presented Ms. Christy Reid, First Link Coordinator for North Algoma with a BIG cheque for $2,084. This is an annual campaign run by Tim Hortons, with each local franchise deciding on the charity to benefit. A smile cookie sold for $1, meaning that 2,84 cookies were decorated and baked by staff, bought and eaten during a one week period.

Christy is the First Link Coordinator in Wawa, and provides a number of services to residents of Wawa, White River and Hornepayne. Her office is located at the back of 37 Broadway Avenue (at the back of the H&R Office). There is a Family Caregiver Support Group offered at the Lady Dunn Health Centre every second Tuesday afternoon of the month from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
