On September 20, 2017, Ms. Angèle Gauthier-Auger along with her grade 1 students from École Saint-Joseph (Wawa) welcomed students from the Leadership course at École secondaire Saint-Joseph (Wawa). The young leaders, accompanied by Ms. Isabelle Impératori, presented the project “Mon jardin à moi” (My garden). The project consists of planting bean seeds and observing their growth, an activity that coincides well with the unit on living beings taught in science classes at the elementary level.
Students had fun decorating the plastic containers they used to plant the seeds. They spent the following weeks watching their seeds transform and grow. On October 3, the high school students returned to see the plants’ progress, strengthen the plants and interact with the Grade 1 students.
