The Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site is undergoing a five-year, $13 million project, part of which was parking lot reconstruction and the removal of a berm that had obstructed the view of the locks. In addition, the 121 year-old Powerhouse and ‘old store house’ buildings are being restored.
