Body of Missing Snowmobiler Found

Shortly after noon on Friday, May 12, 2017, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call for service regarding a deceased male that had been found floating in the water on the St. Mary’s River, south of Leighs Bay Road.

 

The male has now been identified as missing person John Szczepanik.

 

Mr. Szcepanik was last seen on March 5th, 2017 riding his snow machine on the ice near open water by Pine Shores Drive.  The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to thank all of the agencies and people that were involved in the in the efforts to locate Mr. Szczepanik.
