Ontario is helping 19 municipalities across the province make the roads and bridges that run through their communities and connect to provincial highways safer, while fostering economic growth and job creation.
Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca was at the Sault Ste. Marie Civic Centretoday to announce that the City of Sault Ste. Marie will receive support through the Connecting Links program to resurface two sections of Second Line along Highway 550/17.
Connecting links are municipal roads or bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community, or to a border crossing.
Ontario is making the largest infrastructure investment in hospitals, schools, public transit, roads and bridges in the province’s history. To learn more about what’s happening in your community, go to Ontario.ca/BuildON.
Investing in safe, well-maintained connections to provincial highways is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.
