A collision 20 kilometres north of Wawa has closed the highway down. Algoma EMS was on scene, and members of the Wawa Fire Department were helping to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was taken to Lady Dunn Health Centre.
The highway will remain closed for a while, as there is a second collision at Hammer Lake Lodge – a transport is blocking the highway. Fire and EMS are on scene there.
Wawa-news would advise that drivers take care as the highways are very slippery with the wet snow.
At this time there is no press release from the OPP regarding this road closure.
