Congratulations to all winners and a big thanks to all those who purchased tickets in Wawa, White River and Dubreuilville. This raffle is a very big fundraiser for programs in the north, like Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Disaster Services. Community Services Coordinator, Darlene Trovarello at the Wawa office of the Canadian Red Cross would like to thank all the volunteers who helped sell tickets. A total of 377 tickets were sold in the North Algoma district.
Trovarello would also like to extend an invitation to all organizations, businesses and individuals to join the “24 Hour Feast or Famine” fundraiser. The idea is to team up with friends or co-workers into teams of five and challenge others to raise pledges for programs and services the Red Cross provides in our community. Teams will fast from April 27th at noon until April 28th at noon, and join everyone for a feast at the Columbia Restaurant. So, there a no losers and the team with the most pledges wins a dinner for five. Individual prizes will also be awarded. Trovarello can be contacted at 856-1964 for registration and pledge forms. Get your team signed up now!
