  •  Today – Snow. Local blowing snow this afternoon. Local amount 5 to 10 cm. Wind becoming north 40 km/h gusting to 70 near noon. Temperature falling to minus 17 this afternoon. Wind chill minus 9 this morning and minus 28 this afternoon. Risk of frostbite.
  • Tonight – Periods of light snow ending this evening then mainly cloudy with 40 percent chance of light snow. Clearing overnight. Local blowing snow this evening. Wind north 40 km/h gusting to 60 diminishing to 20 gusting to 40 overnight. Low minus 30. Wind chill minus 28 this evening and minus 40 overnight. Frostbite in minutes.

News Tidbits:

  • Sadly the missing worker from Major Drilling who was working in a remote area near Kirkland Lake Gold’s Taylor Mine in the Matheson and Val Gagne area, east of Timmins was found deceased.
  • Highway 17 was closed at 7:10 a.am. between Schreiber and Nipigon due to weather and road conditions.
  • The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and Ontario Health, is lifting Directive 2 to begin a gradual and cautious resumption of non-urgent and non-emergent surgeries and procedures across the province.
