News Tidbits:

  • Yesterday, February 22nd, mining operations restarted at Vale’s Totten Mine. A shaft was damaged last September, forcing 39 miners to climb ladders to exit the mine. The shaft has now been repaired.
  • Ontario has launched Volunteer Corps Ontario, a new program that will register, screen and train volunteers so Ontario is better prepared to mobilize volunteers and safely respond to emergencies, from public health crises to natural disasters. Ontarians can register online at volunteercorps.gov.on.ca.
