Algoma Public Health has posted a statement regarding the health district’s ninth death related to COVID-19. The statement says that, “Out of respect for the family, no further information is being shared.”
Algoma Public Health also reported in the same statement that there are 10 new cases of COVID-19 (#584 – #593), all from Sault Ste. Marie and area. Six are of close contact, and four are of unknown exposure. Nine were tested November 8th, and the ninth on November 9th. All individuals are self-isolating.
There are now 63 cases of COVID-19 in the Algoma area, which encompasses Central and East Algoma, Elliot Lake and area, North Algoma and Sault Ste. Marie and area.
