Freezing rain warning in effect for:
- Manitouwadge – Hornepayne
Freezing rain today and tonight.
Precipitation has begun over portions of the area. Where temperatures are cooler, this precipitation has begun as snow while areas closer to Lake Superior are seeing rain early this morning. For all areas, this initial precipitation is forecast to transition to freezing rain this morning or this afternoon.
Several hours of freezing rain are expected. Significant ice accretion of 5 to 10 mm are expected before the freezing rain transitions to ice pellets or snow late tonight.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
