This Carnival saw the introduction of a new event; a Teen & Pre-teen Karaoke Sing-Off was held at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre Saturday evening (while the adults did the Legion Wing Ding). A good number of participants competed, while the audience did their share by clapping as the singers sang. Although some of the competitors were quite nervous, some showed an incredible talent as they sang a favourite song.
Natalie LabbĂ©e exclaimed “I’m really happy with the turn-out for a first year event and given that the Wing Ding was going on at the same time! I think everyone had a great time.” She is looking forward to hosting it again next year. The Judges were Jo Tappenden, Rick Cox and Scott Walsh. Our Mystery Audience Judge was Melissa (Walsh). Natalie offered a special thanks to the event sponsors Wawa Healthy Lifestyles, Northsound DJ & Karaoke (John Secord), Carnival Committee, Northern Store & Subway.
