Special weather statement in effect for:
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Another Alberta Clipper will sail southeastward across the Great lakes today, bringing flurries and perhaps a brief snow squall or two with it.
While snowfall amounts will likely be limited to the 5 to 10 centimetre range, strong and gusty winds near Northern Lake Huron and Lake Superior will result in occasional blowing snow.
Poor winter driving conditions due to occasional low visibility in blowing snow or bursts of heavier snow are expected. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination.
The lake effect snow activity is expected to diminish slowly tonight as a high pressure ridge arrives in the wake of the Alberta Clipper.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
