Hockey is a  large part of our community, and many of our youth have left to pursue hockey dreams elsewhere. Just this week in Big Rapid, Michigan, Ferris State University junior defenseman Ryker Killins (Wawa, Ontario) has been tabbed as this week’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Defensive Player of the Week. Killins scored the game-winner in overtime this past Friday (Nov. 3) to lift the Bulldogs over in-state rival Michigan at historic Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.

One comment

  1. Very proud of our grandson. It’s always great to hear “from Wawa, Ontario” when watching him play on the TV or in the arena.
