It may sound rather strange, but to me the sight of ice on the rock cuts is a sign of spring. The cycle of warmth through the day and cold at night – means flowing water that freezes as icicles and frozen rivers of water. One of the best stretches is along Highway 101, beside Wawa Lake.
It is beautiful to see the icicles sparkle in the sun, sometimes the highlights, and wet spots gleam so bright you need to wear double strength sunglasses! The photo below shows the cliff alongside Wawa Lake, and is several stories tall.
