1951-2015

The family announces with great sorrow her sudden passing on January 30, 2015 at the Royal United Hospital in Bath, England. Beloved wife of Michael Keveren. Dearest mother of Rodney Girard (Sheila) and loving grandmother of Vanessa Girard of Sudbury. She will be greatly missed by her mother Ella Lahti of Timmins and her sisters Aili McCormick (Richard) of Sudbury and Kathy Miller (Clifford) of Wawa. Predeceased by her father Jack Lahti.

Sylvia loved cats and will be remembered as an avid reader and cribbage player with a passion for travelling. At Sylvia’s request, cremation and funeral services will take place in England with a graveside ceremony for friends and family to be held in Timmins at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Sylvia may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
