On August 26, 2017 the Wikwemikong Tribal Police responded to the Wikwemikong Nursing Home regarding an incident that occurred the evening of August 25, 2017.
A resident from the nursing home was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries but subsequently died on August 30, 2017.
The deceased has been identified as Robert Jim STILL, age 85, of Little Current, Ontario. A post mortem examination is scheduled for September 5, 2017 at the Office of the Chief Coroner – Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) in Sudbury.
The Wikwemikong Tribal Police is continuing the investigation with the assistance of the OPP Crime Unit from Sudbury and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) under the direction of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski.
