STARR, Aireal “Everlasting Sky Woman”

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of our beloved Aireal Starr, who left this world to meet her Creator and be reunited with her grandparents and father on Monday, July 14, 2025, at the age of 32. Aireal passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.

Aireal was the loving partner of Nolan Dokis and cherished daughter of Amanda Desmoulin and the late John Starr. She was a devoted sister to Dakota, and a deeply loved daughter-in-law to Judy Manitowabi and Ken Dokis. She held a special place in her heart for her godson Harold and nephew Maximus, and shared an unbreakable bond with her four-legged companion, Teddy Bear, who will miss her dearly.

Aireal had a beautiful soul and a love for life that was most alive when she was close to nature. She loved the water and found peace being out on the land—cruising around, camping, and simply being in the moment with Nolan and Teddy by her side. Her presence was calming, her laughter unforgettable, and her heart full of kindness and compassion.

She will be lovingly remembered by her many aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and spirit.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. Francis Xavier Church, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg on Friday, July 18, 2025. Visitation for immediate family will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and continuing throughout the day. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Jerome Nnanna officiating. Cremation will follow at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie.

Arrangements entrusted to Kerry Funeral Home, Wawa.
