UPDATE – Residential Fire in Mattawa Claims two Lives

The Mattawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), OPP Forensic Investigation Services (FIS), the North Bay Crime Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) have concluded their investigations into a fatal house fire in Mattawa from September 2, 2017. No foul play is suspected.

The deceased persons have been identified as Billy KING, age 74, and Roxanne LADOUCEUR, age 47, both of Mattawa.

A post-mortem examination was conducted in Toronto on September 5, 2017.

On September 2, 2017 at 1:11 a.m. members of the Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Mattawa Fire Department and the Papineau-Cameron Township Fire Department responded to a house fire in Mattawa, Ontario.

The house was fully engulfed and the fire was extinguished. Two people were found deceased in the residence which contained three separate units.

The Mattawa OPP, the North Bay Crime Unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) are conducting an investigation into this house fire.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
