Members of the Marathon and Manitouwadge Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a firearms related call in the town of Hillsport on July 23, 2017 at approximately 7:30am.
As a result of their investigation, one male was taken into custody without incident. Further, a search warrant was executed resulting in the seizure of over 50 firearms.
Andrew DEJONGE, a 27-year-old male from Hillsport is charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code:
- Utter Death Threats
- Point a Firearm
- Careless Storage of a Firearm
- Mischief Under 5000 dollars
- Possession of Weapons Dangerous to the Public.
The accused has been remanded to the District Jail in Thunder Bay.
