Ray peacefully passed away at the age of 82 with his loving family by his side at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Sunday, August 6th, 2017.
Husband to the late beautiful wife Helen Gavin. Dear loving father of Bernadette (André) Larocque, Norma (Perry) Kauk and Anita (Richard) Gerrard.
Cherished grandfather of Morgan Larocque, Jody (Scott) Glover, Julie (Simon) Baillie, Shannon (Walter) Humeniuk and Caleb (Melissa) McIntosh.
Proud Great Grandfather of Alec and Sam Glover; Abbey Larocque; Helen, Mark, John and Anna Cate Baillie; Matthew, Naomi, Meghan & Michael Durocher and Alice McIntosh.
Ray was a loving son to the late Ivan and Aileen Gavin of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Brother to Myrne (George) Scott, the late Peter (Ivy) Gavin, the late Marie (late Bill) Brodie, the late Berta (late Wayne) King.
Ray retired after 45 great years with the Algoma Central Railway at the shipping docks in Michipicoten Harbour working with great friends and relatives. Following the death of his wife and then his retirement, Ray left Wawa and moved to Oakville. He has spent the last 3 years of his life in Cobourg, Ontario.
A devoted family man, Ray will be sadly missed by his family, including the family pets Marley and Rose.
A memorial service and interment to take place in Wawa summer, 2018.
