Tuesday Morning News – February 7th

Weather – Cloudy with snow beginning early this morning, amounts of 5 to 10 cm. High of -10 with windchill of -25 this morning.

Roads – From Sault Ste. Marie to Montreal River, Highway 17 is bare and wet with partly snow covered sections. From Montreal River to Wawa the road is bare and wet. From Wawa to the Paint Lake Road, the road is bare and wet with partly snow packed sections, and from there to White River it is bare and wet.

There is a regular meeting of Council tonight in Council Chambers at 6 p.m.

District – The Hornepayne Mill is up and running again. It underwent a test start in Dec., 2016 before the first shifts went back to work at the beginning of January. The mill was purchased by Hornepayne Lumber LP, which is headed by Frank Dottori, who in 2013 brought the White River mill back into production.
