It is with great sadness that we wish to announce that Hans Metzen, founder and and long-time executive member of the Sault Cycling Club, died suddenly last night.
Hans had a major impact in the local cycling community, forming the Cycling Club in the 1970s and organizing multiple touring events, including the very popular three-day tour to Mackinac Island.
He was a role model, master mechanic, inventor and frame builder.
He was always ready to help.
His moto was: “If Hans can’t fix it, it’s broke.”
He was full of life and rode his bike till the day he died.
