News tidbits – OPP from Mantoulin & East Algoma Detachments, as the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to an unresponsive male, located outside a residence in the Town of Spanish. The male’s identity is not being released at this time. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for July 6, 2017, to determine the cause of death at the Office of the Chief Coroner-Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) in Sudbury. The OPP East Algoma Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), under the direction of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Inspector Mark Zulinski, will continue to carry out a thorough and professional investigation into this death. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
Today Lac-Megantic, Que. will mark the fourth anniversary of the deadly train derailment that left dozens dead and destroyed much of the town’s downtown core.
