Just think about it 25,000 Canadians celebrating a battle which happened 100 years ago. In France at the Vimy Ridge were our young men between 16 and 30 years old had volunteered to get involved and made Canada what it is today, and about 5,000 killed in 2 days and 7,000 wounded. Could this still happen today?
And in a few weeks, we will celebrate and remember the thousands of Canadian young men of the next generation who volunteered to step in their father’s shoes and do this thing all over again 72 years ago.
So if things work right at this time we should have a whole generation of young people volunteering to make Canada a better place for the future generations.
And in memory of all those fallen Canadian soldiers (just normal blokes)
we should take care of those who served and need help to get over the scars and unseen wounds. So be proud and join the Royal Canadian Legion and help those who made sure you live in a free Country. If in doubt talk to an old Veteran and get the real story.
At Branch 429, we will have our membership meeting next Thursday, April 13, and all members should attend as there will be nominations needed for the new slate of officers and executive committee.
Little Johnnie went at school to the bathroom and the pricipal was there too. So he asked Johnnie “ Did your parents not teach you to wash your hands after having a pee?”
So Johnnie answered him “ Sir my parents did even better. They thought me NOT to pee over my hands!”
To all our Comrades sick at home, in the hospital or nursing homes you are in our thoughts and prayer and we wish you well.
