SSM OPP has released a media statement that a 68-year-old motorcyclist from Wawa has perished in a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 552 West in Fenwick Township. The investigation into the collision is continuing, and Hwy 17 remains closed in both directions.

Goulais Fire & Rescue has posted on their social media: “We are currently on scene of a car accident at Hwy 17 and Hwy 552. Highway 17 is closed from Pineshores Rd to Post Office Rd. Traffic is being rerouted around. We will update once the highway reopens.”

Hwy 17 is closed in the Goulais River area due to a collision. Wawa-news has been told that the collision is serious, and the closure may be lengthy. The highway closed at 11:55 a.m.
