The Summer Reading Program has begun! Join us at 11 a.m. Tuesday – Thursday for stories, crafts, and fun science experiments all on Facebook live. Remember to sign up on the TDSRC website. There you will find tons of eBooks, jokes, and a reading log for all the books this summer. Keep track of books you’ve read and let us know how many to be entered into the candy jar contest. There are weekly prizes as well so be sure to comment and post pictures of completed crafts on our Facebook live posts to qualify for the prizes. This week’s New Books are “Camino Winds” by John Grisham, “If It Bleeds” by Stephen King, “Big Summer” by Jennifer Weiner and “The Last Trial” by Scott Turow.
The New Movies cataloged this week are “Jumanji-The Next Level”, “The Goldfinch” “The Call of the Wild” available in both DVD and Blu-ray, “Quantum of Solace” also available in Blu-ray and DVD and Anastasia!
The Wawa Public Library is closed but there is no need to stop reading with the LIBBY APP at your fingertips. Your library card gives you access to a huge selection of books and audiobooks. The Wawa Public Library’s website is up and running. Please take a moment and check it out! There is an amazing amount of reference material and tools available for everyone. Check the E-Resources tab for all kinds of information. The web address is wawa.olsn.ca. The Online Catalogue and your library account are accessible. We also have a blog page titled Library News. In here you will find current happenings at the Wawa Public Library. Don’t forget TumbleBooks is offering free access to their resources during the Covid-19 crisis. The links can be found under the E-Resources tab.
CURBSIDE PICK UP: The Wawa Public Library has Curbside Pickup available for our patrons, Tuesday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.! Place your order by accessing your account from our website and placing your order. If you do not know or remember your password please call or email and we can look it up for you! You can also place an order by emailing us at [email protected] or calling us at 705-856-2244 at 290!
If you have library material, they can still at this time be returned using the dropbox. You may also keep the material if you wish. All materials on loan at this time will have fine free check-ins! Please no batteries or ink cartridges in the dropbox.
If you would like to register for a library card, please call us at (705)856-2244 ext 290 or email at [email protected]. A library card allows patrons to access an amazing selection of e-books and audiobooks through the Libby App. Please provide your name and contact information and we will give you your card number. If you are a member with a valid library card and it is not working; it may be that your card is expired or maybe has an alert in which case you would be blocked. Call or email the library and we can make sure you have access to library material. We are automatically updating cards we know are expired but we may not catch them all.
We are now able to convert VHS-C cassettes to DVD! These are the small cassettes that fit in a video camera. Thank you to a patron who donated the VHS-C cassette adapter. Please call the Circulation Desk for more details.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the library and can be accessed from your vehicle.
Wawa Public Library Board Meetings will be canceled until further notice.

We have a great selection of books, magazines, DVD’s, Blu-rays, Audiobooks, French books, and more available for checkout.The newer magazines are one-week lending and the older ones are three weeks lending.And don’t forget our awesome Children’s collection and our growing Graphic Novel collection.
For the visually impaired, we have a Daisy Reader available for check out as well as books and magazines available on discs and a great selection of Audio Books and PLAYAWAYS.

We have two computers available for use and two workspaces if a patron would like to bring in their own laptop or tablet. Free WIFI is available.If you do not have a library card, there is a fee of $1.00/half hour for the use of a computer. We sanitize each work space after use.

The Wawa Public Library welcomes the donation of gently used DVDs and books.What we don’t catalogue we put in our book sales.Thank you in advance for supporting the library!
Remember – library membership is FREE to residents of the Municipality of Wawa and contracting communities. All you need to provide is proof of residency. That would include any document or piece of identification that states both your name and street address. Membership forms can be found on our website at wawa.olsn.ca or come in and sign up at the Wawa Public Library. All are welcome!
Our drop box is in place for all returns. Please do not deposit batteries or ink cartridges in the drop box as they may damage our books.
LIBRARY HOURS – Saturday, Sunday & Monday-closed.The library is open Tuesday-Thursday from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, Friday from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.
