Tonight will see periods of rain changing to flurries before morning. Risk of a thunderstorm this evening and overnight. Rainfall amount 10 to 15 mm. Wind southeast 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming southwest 40 gusting to 60 before morning. Low plus 2.

Marine – Gale warning in effect.Wind southeast 35 knots diminishing to south 30 this afternoon then increasing to southwest 35 near midnight. Wind increasing to southwest 45 early Tuesday morning then diminishing to southwest 35 near noon Tuesday. Waves one metre building to 2 to 3 this morning and to 3 to 4 overnight. Waves building to 5 Tuesday morning then subsiding to 4 Tuesday afternoon.

News Tidbits – This year is the 100th anniversary of the Halifax Explosion – December 6, 1917. CBC has done a number of very interesting reports on how the city recovered, victims coped in a tragedy that killed 2,000 and injured thousands.
