One person is facing criminal charges after allegedly pointing a firearm at another person during a property dispute.
On September 5, 2026, at approximately 7:50 a.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons call at a residence on Jody Lane in Aweres Township.
As a result of the investigation, Blaine CUTHBERTSON, 65 years-of-age, of Aweres Township was arrested and charged with the following:
- Pointing a firearm
- Careless use of a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Mischief
The accused was held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody.
