On September 3, 2026, at approximately 1:30pm, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Nipigon Detachment was conducting Lidar enforcement on Highway 11-17 in the Township of Red Rock. The officer observed a westbound motor vehicle traveling at a excessive rate of speed. The Lidar confirmed the vehicle speed to be 159km/hr in the posted 90km/hr zone.
As a result, Sanjiv DOAL, age 27 of Alliston ON was issued a court summons for Stunt Driving, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. The driver received a 30 day driver’s license suspension and is scheduled to appear in Nipigon court at a later date. The vehicle a 2010 black BMW was impounded for 14 days.
The OPP remains committed to taking aggressive drivers off our roads through enforcement and public education. If you suspect that someone is driving aggressively, it is important to call 9-1-1 to report it.
