SERRANO, Maria Mendes Caridade

February 1, 1937 – September 23, 2015

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 23rd at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 78 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Adelino. Beloved mother to Helena (Robert) Bill, and Susana (Gabriel) Montesi, and loving Avo to Jessica, Kristen, Kayla, Alyssa, and Nicholas. She will be sadly missed by her brothers Jose (Carol) of Sudbury, Joaquim, and her sisters Matilde, Emilia, and Susana, and her sisters in law Emilia Carecho (Joaquim), and Isaura, as well as her many nieces and nephews all of Portugal.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Peter’s, and at Juravinski, especially Dr. Major and nurse Susan for their wonderful care.

Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “Swackhamer Chapel” 195 King Street West, Dundas on Sunday, September 27th from 2-4 & 7-9pm with prayers at 8:30.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 58 Sydenham Street, Dundas on Monday, September 28th at 10 a.m.

Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
