One More Time

Moving into Pathways one day, and out the next was a complete shock, unplanned stress, and work for everyone involved in setting up my new suite, then having to undo it all a day later especially when they went over and above to accommodate us last minute.

Ending up in the Emergency Department on July 24th last summer, less than 24 hours after moving from Wawa wasn’t expected.

To Unit 3C Jul 25th, Unit 3B Sep 15th, Unit 2C Sep 18th, Unit 1B Nov 11th:  the care and compassion from all the Hospital Staff (Specialists, Doctors, Nurses, PSW, Kitchen Staff, Laundry, Physio, Activity Co-ordinators Susie & Sarah & Jewel & helpers, Cylina & Office Staff & Heather & Linda with Ontario Home Health) you all went over and above to help with the new reality of my life.  Special thanks to Nurse Practitioner Jenny who was assigned to oversee my care.

Doing more than necessary to help me adjust to living in the Soo after 73 years in Wawa and in the hospital no less.

Shout out to Jane and Frank Musso for the monthly concerts, Claudia with Art Expressions for painting classes and all the beautiful people who volunteer to keep us busy & happy with both morning & afternoon activities and getting us outside in the courtyard as much as possible to enjoy some fresh air & sun

Enjoyed chats with Janet, hellos and waves from Bob, running into Lorene, and Wawa people when touring around the lobby – always made my day.

It has been quite an emotional, time-consuming roller coaster journey for my caregivers, and big learning curve for me adjusting to life in a wheelchair.

Thank you again for everything – Unit 1B you are the best

Ending up with Rhinovirus just before Thanksgiving Weekend put a kink in things, creating extra work and stress for everyone involved.

To the FJ Davey Nursing Home on Oct 13th, 2026, eleven days shy of fifteen months later. The last chapter of my life will be at my new home at the Cedar Grove Unit – Second Floor – Room 214.
