(Wawa, Ontario) – Superior East OPP had investigated a 2 vehicle collision on Highway 17 on March 17th. The driver of the car, 34 year old Christopher Barbe of Capreol, Ontario had crossed over the center line and struck the side of a tractor trailer going the opposite direction.
He was transported to Lady Dunn Hospital in Wawa, transferred by air ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Sudbury and then flown to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto.
On Thursday 24th March, Mr. Barbe died from his injuries in St. Michaels Hospital.
Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) provides policing services to Wawa, Chapleau, White River, Hornepayne and Dubreuiville.
