OPP Investigate Human remain found on Mississauga First Nation Territory

On June 24, 2017, shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the East Algoma Crime Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services responded to a report of found human remains in a wooded area on the Mississauga First Nation territory.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers located human remains which were transported to the Office of the Chief Coroner – Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS) in Sudbury where a forensic post mortem examination will be completed on June 28, 2017.

The OPP will continue to carry out a thorough and professional investigation into this discovery and further information will be provided only as it becomes available.
