The Ontario Nurses Association is proud to celebrate and acknowledge Nursing week 2017. This is an annual celebration of our profession which is held in May each year to coincide with the May 12 birthday of Florence Nightingale the founder of modern nursing. It is a time to recognize the year-round dedication of all RNs, RPNs & NPs who are present in so many aspects of our health care system. In our modern society nursing roles are evolving at an exponential rate particularly with the influence of technology; but in all aspects of care, nurses are rising to meet the challenges of modern medicine and a more complex health care delivery.
As nursing continues to evolve with new structures, fancier gadgets and political challenges , the heart of the profession stays the same. Whatever the tools and technologies of the job, nurses will remain caregivers and advocates for the sick and most vulnerable members of our communities. You can count on us.
This year our annual Nurses Week dinner will be held at the Legion Hall on Wednesday, May 10, cocktails at 5:30 and dinner at 6 pm. Any nurses planning to attend, please contact Margaret Chapman by May 4 at 705-856-0310 or email her at [email protected]
