September 23, 1985 – October 2, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Sara Kristina Leclair, on October 2, 2026, a week after her 41st birthday.
Sara was a generous, loving, kind, nurturing and compassionate person. Funny, witty and bright, she had a wonderful sense of humour and a flair for fashion and home décor. She had her own unique style and a creative spirit that found expression in many aspects of her life.
Sara was a wonderful cook, and those fortunate enough to receive a tin of her homemade Christmas cookies or attend one of her Christmas or Thanksgiving meals knew just how special her cooking was. Bringing people together around a table was one of the many ways she shared her talents and generosity.
Sara had a varied career, beginning with waitressing at the Hoito while attending university. After graduating from Lakehead University, she went on to work at the Canada Revenue Agency, Thunder Bay Hydro and Confederation College.
She had a deep love of animals and nature. Camping, hiking and gardening were among the things she enjoyed, along with knitting, crocheting and a good game of Yahtzee. She lovingly made blankets for family and friends, creating lasting gifts that wrapped others in warmth and affection.
Some of Sara’s happiest and most peaceful moments were spent walking her beloved dogs around Boulevard Park, just a block from her home. Murphy, her Irish Wolfhound, Pablo, her Havanese, and Roxy were cherished companions who brought her much joy.
Sara also had a compassionate heart for those facing hardship. She often advocated for people less fortunate than herself and volunteered at Shelter House in Thunder Bay, reflecting her concern for others and her desire to make a difference.
Sara leaves behind her loving parents, Kathy and Lorne Leclair; her sister, Natalie Jones (Dan); her niece, Kailey Macknak (Brent); and her nephew, Oliver Jones. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
A private service was held on October 17, 2026, in Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan, with her family in attendance.
Sara will be remembered for her generous heart, her quick wit, her creativity, her love of family and animals, and the many ways she made life richer for those around her.
*The road you walked was not easy, Sara, but you are at peace now. You will always be loved and forever missed.*
