May 30, 2023 Hornepayne News Update:
Total Fire Ban across community.
Smoke we are experiencing is from fire 45-50 kms south of our community.
Highway 631 South closed again at 2:00 pm to ensure safety of fire crews and plane crews operating water drops.
Emergency Control Group had its first meeting and will be closely monitoring the situation and bring those professionals onboard as needed.

Please stay in touch with weather forecasts and be prepared for an emergency evacuation: have dry food, water, clothes for each family member, indentification for each member, and ensure vehicles are full of gasoline and fluids checked.
This is all precautionary right now as the crews are working diligently to have the fire brought under control.
OPP are on patrol in both communities and assisting anyway they can to help. They have kept the communities up to date with most current information.
Fuel is available within our community.
There will be a Facebook Live this evening with Mayor Fort on this page at 8 pm.
