Two new wildland fires were confirmed in the Northeast Region today.
- Chapleau 26 was confirmed this afternoon on an island of Little Wawa Lake, within The Shoals Provincial Park. It is under control at 0.1 of a hectare.
- Wawa 31 was confirmed early this evening. It measures 0.1 of a hectare and is located south of Highway 17, west of Dunc Lake.
There are currently 9 active wildland fires in the Northeast Region. Of these, 2 are under control, 1 is not under control and 6 are being observed.
