Municipality has an Ice Resurfacer – Arena Ice available to use

Please be aware that as of Saturday, December 9th, 2017 the Arena Ice at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Center will return to normal service. The arena will open at 6 a.m. on schedule.

Staff has received a newer Ice Resurfacer to use for an extended period of time. This resurfacer is in better condition and this has solved the issues presented.

The arena surface and stands have been extensively tested under many different conditions including maximum potential load and all readings have been safe. Staff will continue to test air quality regularly over the coming weeks to ensure staff and patron safety.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank the community for your patience and understanding in this matter.
