Tonight will be loudy. 60 percent chance of flurries changing to 60 percent chance of rain before morning. Wind east 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light this evening. Wind becoming southeast 20 late this evening. Temperature rising to plus 3 by morning.

Marine – Strong wind warning in effect. Wind northeast 10 knots increasing to east 15 early this morning and to southeast 20 late this morning. Wind veering to southwest 20 Sunday morning then to west 20 near noon Sunday. Wind increasing to west 30 Sunday evening. Periods of snow beginning early this morning changing to chance of showers this evening then to a few showers near midnight and ending Sunday morning. Waves one half metre or less building to one and one half metres early this morning and to 2 this evening. Waves subsiding to one Sunday morning then building to 2 Sunday evening.

News Tidbits: Today is the day to go watch some figure skating at the MMCC. The Wawa Figures Skating Club is hosting a Star Skate 1-4 competition at the MMCC from 1:00-4:00pm. Organizers say, “admission is free and all are welcome to come and support our local skaters!”

Tonight on the Nature of Things, a documentary called “Into the Fire” will be featured. It will also feature Josha Johnston is a forest fire research scientist at Great Lakes Forestry Centre. The documentary is about the science of fighting forest fires.
