On Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at approximately 1:20 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachments along with the assistance of the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Superior East Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a local Chapleau business.
The warrant was as a result of an extensive investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in the Chapleau area which resulted in several youths being hospitalized. Â Approximately 95 grams of Kush King brand synthetic cannabinoids and four vaporizer pens containing hemp oil (also known as CBD) were seized.
As a result David DONG, (50) of Chapleau, Ontario, was charged with:
- Adult possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking- under 3 kg, contrary to section 5 (2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Chapleau, Ontario on December 18, 2017.
