Tonight – mainly cloudy. 30 percent chance of showers overnight. Wind southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low plus 5.

Marine – Strong wind warning in effect. Wind southwest 10 knots increasing to southwest 15 early this morning and to southwest 20 this afternoon. Wind increasing to southwest 25 near midnight then veering to northwest 20 Tuesday morning. Wind diminishing to west 15 Tuesday afternoon and to southwest 10 Tuesday evening. Chance of showers today. Risk of thunderstorms this morning. Waves one half metre building to one this morning and to one and one half metres early this evening. Waves building to 2 overnight then subsiding to one Tuesday evening.

Road Closures – Terrace Bay: #HWY17 EB near Steel River Bridge, EB lane is closed due to a collision. Traffic control is in place. The OPP tweeted at 9 p.m. last night that the highway was closed because of a collision “Tractor trailer blocking both lanes. #OPP and Fire Dept on scene.”

News Tidbits – The Regional Employment Help Centre is hosting  an information session and presentation in White River this evening from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Municipal Council Chambers. The presentation will be on the Employment Standards Act and Current Regulations.

Over the next few months, there will be changes at the Big Bird Inn – Wawa-news has been told that the hotel will be rebuilt. No word on the bar, laundromat or restaurant facilities.
