Ecotrust Canada (EC) is hosting an Open House tonight at the MMCC. EcoTrust has been working in the Northeast Superior Region since 2012, introducing the concept of the Conservation Economy, building awareness of its possibilities, and supporting the business case and demonstration projects to bring it to fruition. Our work with and/or commissioned by the Northeast Superior Regional Chiefs’ Forum (NSRCF), Chapleau Cree First Nation, and now Wahkohtowin Development GP Inc shows that there is consensus on a different way of doing business in the region and specifically pursuing increased economic opportunities that provide healthy ecosystems, meaningful work, vibrant culture, happy people, and resilient communities.

Collective Impact is a method of getting people to work together differently in pursuit of a clearly defined common goal to address complex social issues in communities. It’s a framework for tackling big problems and transformative actions, to achieve lasting change. We believe that Collective Impact is a strategy for the Northeast Superior Region to take a different approach, and bring change-makers and do-ers together.

The Open House is from 7 – 9 p.m. at the MMCC.
